Hello to one and all.

I've been lurking on these forums for some time now as I wait for my "man-gagement" present from my fiance. She has taken it upon herself to reward me for my excellent taste in women by giving me a gift that I can look at and admire every day, with much the same satisfaction that she gets from her engagement ring.

On its way as we speak is a Breitling Aerospace Avantage which can be seen here --> http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Breitling-Aerospace-Avantage_W0QQitemZ190353850219QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWristwatches?hash=item2c51f93f6b

I truly hope that our homework was adequate and that no-one comes forward to tell me this watch is a fake

While new to this forum, i am not unfamiliar with fora in general and have taken quite a liking to this community. I have a love of watches, cars and other items that exhibit engineering skill and design ingenuity, stemming from my own love of engineering as a profession. That said, my purchase of a (shock horror) quartz watch stems from the fact that this will be my daily wearer for the foreseeable future (read forever), and will see work in the field that I could not bring myself to subject an automatic to.

The things in life that bring me the greatest satisfaction are my fiance, my friends, and my family, however I am guilty of gaining far too much pleasure from what some might call trinkets. To others these things might give the impression that I am trying to impress, however those that know me soon come to recognise that I am a bit "old school" in my thinking (being only 26), and buy these things through an appreciation of the skill that goes into designing and building something of enduring quality; I am most definitely NOT a member of the disposable generation.

Anyway, that is me in a nutshell (help, I'm in a nutshell  ).

Cheers,

Matt

Enjoy your time here.

Nothing wrong with quartz - I have a B-1, Aerospace and an old Shark.

The B-1 was on my wishlist, but alas with a house to buy and a wedding to pay for the budget would only stretch to the aerospace.

I have to admit though, having fallen in love with the B-1 initially, i am now a bigger fan of the aerospace.

Ultimate watch remains the AS Blacksteel for the moment, however I always prefer a bracelet and the lack of a bracelet option on the that one has me stumped.

Looks like I will have to remediate a lot more land before I get that one anyhow...
