We all need to remove our watches every now and then, and I was wondering what everyone feels is the best way to set it down:

On its side, crown up: Risk scratching the polished side, put lateral pressure on the bracelet?

On its side, crown down: More bracelet pressure, damage to crown/pushpieces?

On its back, bracelet underneath: Scratches to bracelet and caseback?

On its face: Scratch bezel/rider tabs? Seems the safest way to me, but just seems wrong!

My instinct is to put mine on its side, but I'm probably going to stop that as it now needs a polish (could be due to an unrelated incident though- I wear it every day, after all). Plus Roff has said before that it can have an effect on the accuracy.

What does everyone else do?

Back or crown up, depends on whether it tends to run fast (crown up) or slow (back).

I lay mine down on it's back. I have the leather band so it sets flat on my nightstand.

I go crown up or crystal up, depending on timing. If the PR has run out, I just put them however they look nice.

Crown up for me (I hate scratches on the caseback from the clasp  ), or in the watch winder.

I also position mine crown up. This seems to keep my regulation right at +2 sec. per day.

On its back if I'm just taking it off for the night, and place it gently behind the tv in the armoire so our little furry four legged friends don't push it onto the floor. They like to climb onto the nightstands. If I'm not wearing it the next day, it goes onto its pillow and put in the box.
