I have a 2111N and am after a watch winder to keep it in.

Are the following suitable, as it seems its a 'mine field' as they need to be a certain type....................

Caliber 11 / 12 winds in both directions so that makes it easier - and doesn't need a huge number of turns per day (can't remember the exact number - 500 or so from memory).

Can't comment on those specific winders but most winders will do the job - there are dozens of threads on here on different brands - just use the search function.

I bought a single time tutelary winder from e-bay 8 months ago for £19!!!
I can honestly say it has been fine, Ok not great to look at but it has kept my skyland in perfect time, goes in the safe ( lead through a hole). I did read about magnetising but no signs ,watch has not started running fast. 1 hour on 3 off so i use a timer at night so it runs 3hrs in 24. i was worried about cross threading the crown when winding manually as i mainly wear the watch at weekends but could not justify spending £300+ on a winder. :D

Since we're on the topic....

I have a cheap winder that said it was multidirectional, but turns out it is for every setting, I can only adjust the number of turns per day. My problem is right now I want to keep my BB on it which of course winds from each direction, but also a Tissot that is only good one way. So... to keep the Tissot going I'll probably have to set the winder to 1250 turns per day. I'm thinking this should still fall in the range of being ok but thought I might as well ask. I'll probably buy a watch in the Spring and put a good winder in the budget as well.

PS... Would I be better off just winding the BB alone and since the Tissot is under a 1k watch just winding it by hand every couple of days. I'll probably be wearting the T a few hours to start every day anyway.

1,250 won't harm the BB as long as it's not constant - i.e. that the winder rests between cycles.

Thanks. I haven't used it much but does appear to have resting period... that, or it's just broken. :D It's pretty sad I have two Breitlings and such a sad winder, but oh well.

PS... You were the first to reply on my SA thread, the one that I said I just wasn't feeling the blue dial. Well I'm very happy to report the watch has grown on me a lot and now question why I felt that way, and would take back the post if I could. I guess a lot had to do with having an image in mind and it being a little different, and of course UPS were really ticking me off.... add in being a bit tired and it was easier to dislike than to like. Anyway I figured I had to write that just so I don't look like a nut someday when I post it and say how much I like it. :lingsrock: Going to be a long Winter waiting to get out in the sun with it in 2010.

....and to think I believed the SA would be the cure from watching shopping. I did in fact find a cure though, one that works great! ...it's called being broke.

Not to piggyback on your thread, but does anyone have an opinion or thoughts on this winder from Brookstone?

Rest periods, multi-directional, etc.

It says it has rest periods and different modes, no experience with it beyond that.
