I find my self with a bit of a credit with my dealer and have decided to pick up a new steelfish, I had decided on the black dial but he called today and told me he can transfer a blue dial from another store but has to order in the black.

I haven't had a chance to check out a blue dial anywhere. Does anyone have any good photos they can post to help me decide? I like the shade of blue on the super ocean but am not crazy about the shade on the sea wolf, l think the SF is closer to the SO but am not sure.

Thanks. :lingsrock:

I have a Blackbird, and a Blue Super Avenger. The blue has grown on me and I do like the watch now, but it took a little time. In a lot of pictures I've seen it appears to have close to the same shade of blue.

The first pic in this thread almost made me pick the SF over the BB and save the cash. In the end I decided if I didn't get the BB it might never happen so I had to go for it. I think both were good choices anyway. 100% without any doubt I'd be picking the black over the blue even if it had to be ordered in.

i'm in the same situation as you...I have been toying between the black and blue dial for a long, long time. However, I have only been able to try on the black and silver dial watches. As of late i find myself leaning towards the black dial for versatility reasons -- black dials seem to go with steel, black & brown leather, black rubber and not to mention any type or color shirt. Both look amazing in pictures...too hard to decide, someone please help!

Personally, I love the blue dials on the Colt, Steelfish and SOC. I have a Colt GMT with it (you should be able to find the pics in the gallery forum if you are interested). Black is definitely the most versatile, though.

You really do have to see it in person to appreciate it. The cool thing about the blue is that it changes color quite dramatically depending on how the light hits it. Photos just don't bring that across.

IMHO I think few ompanies do a blue dial like Breitling... the richness of the hue and the way the colour changes in direct sunlight is very well done.

It looks AWESOME!!!!!! :D you really need to see the watch in person to appreciate the colour of blue, photos really do not do it justice. It really depends on the lighting, in bright light the dial appears a brighter shade of blue, in dimmer light a more grayish shade, it almost never looks the same depending on the light and angle you view it from. I would definitely recommend it over the white for sure, it a bit of a toss-up vs. the black, but either way I don’t think you are going to be disappointed with it whatever colour you finally decide on.

Good luck!

S
