Hi fellas,

I've recently purchased a titanium Avenger Seawolf and it wasn't until after i got it home that i noticed a casting/machining error on the 30 minute rider tab.

Do you think BUK will replace this even though it's out of warranty?

The Avenger Seawolf is a commonly faked watch. I hope you got it from a reputable source and have corresponding paperwork with matching numbers. I don't think Breitling would have missed that rider tab in it's quality control inspection. I downloaded this pic from the internet (apologies to whomever took the pic) to show a genuine Avenger Seawolf. To me it looks like the bezel is a little more crisp on the blue dial model and there appears to be some differences in the numbers. Look at the interior hole size in the 8 and 9. Look how the bracelet fits between the lugs too. I'm not all that familiar with this model but I see enough differences to make me suspicious.

Paperwork matches up though.

Numbers look identical

Well that answers that question. :) If the watch is still under warranty then Breitling should replace the rider tab. Definitely is a manufacturing flaw. Maybe the differences in the dial are just related to the color.

It's the complete bezel that needs needs replacing as the rider tab is cast into it.

Hopefully they'll just replace it out of goodwill seeing as the warranty is expired as it's an obvious manufacturing fault.

If you bot it from a private seller they absolutely should have disclosed that.

I can give you 1000% assurance that watch never left the factory or an authorized dealter in that condition. If it is authentic, I see no reason why that bezel should be replaced at no charge by Breitling. Goodwill is one thing but a preowned watch out of warranty which has obviously gone through tough times is another....
Best,
Ron

Looking at your first Pic, the first thing that came to my mind was not that it was a manufacturing flaw. It looks to me like the rider has taken a hard knock. It looks like it was hit hard from an angle on one side, hard enough to move the metal you can clearly see the top edge in the first Photo (Bottom edge or the tab) is now at an angle consistent with the line where it looks like it took a hit.

Sorry to hear about it, but I think that BUK may say the same thing and will want to charge you to replace it.

Cheers
Lee

No, I don't. I really would love it if BUK replaces your bezel at N/C as a goodwill gesture but as LWlandy suggests, it isn't very likely. Good luck with it whatever happens... :!:
Best,
Ron

I tend to agree that I doubt it left the factory like that, but if it did, I bet the dealer would have caught it. I wonder if it can be bent back without damaging the metal :?: Either way, a new titanium bezel is quite expensive, so I hope you can get it sorted one way or another.

Thing is, it doesn't look like it's been knocked at all - it's smooth which leads me to believe it's a casting flaw.

I didn't notice it as it's not that apparent at first but it's bugging me now i know it's there.
