Hello.

Just got me a Breitling Tabarly Quarz watch from my father's belongings.
Tried to google some information about this one, but there is not too much information available.

I wonder if someone here can tell me something about this piece.

How to check authenticity?
If it's a real thing, does it have what kind of value?
How many different models was made?

etc. etc.

The watch seems to have a stailess stell case and same bracelet with some 'gold' in it.
White dial with only texts: Breitling Quartz Tabarly.
At the top there I a 'B' logo, but without wings.

Thanks for any info you could give. :)

Seems to look real to me... the Tabarly Watches were a line of watches designed with Eric Tabarly in the 80's.. he was a French competitive Sailor. Apparently a very good one... he's dead now though.

If you open up the back and take a look at the quartz movement you'll probably be able to tell if it's real. I don't even know if they made many fake Breitlings back in the 80's.

Thank you for info.

One thing that I had in mind, when I browsed pictures from the web, was that some tabarly models say "Waterproof" and some "water resistant", like this one.
Guess they just made two of a kind. :?

My friend,I have several Breitling Tabarly in my collection, they were the first models the factory produced when left the Britling family.
The watch is superb, absolutely water proof,I tested in sea also, and after several years of use I had no problems.
I live in Argentina and I found here a good service(the brand is here by representation) at a private shop that has guarantee.
Some of this models are gold-plated in both face and steel strap with good resistance(dont fade)
If you want more details just post it
Francisco from Buenos Aires

They never made a fake Tabarly model and since the second-hand market is absolutely not hot for these
typically '80's style design watches I don't think there will be any soon, it's just not worth it.
