Hi all,
purchased a navi world around 2 weeks ago. After wearing it a few times I recognized a small imperfection. The bezel or the watch face is off center. In other words the gap between the rotating bezel and the watch face is not even all the way around. In the top right the gap is widest and gets smaller going both ways all the way to the bottom left where the bezel and face are flush. The gap at its biggest point is large enough to see space and metal between the two pieces. As such if I line up the lines/numbers on the bezel with the lines/numbers on the watch face on say the left side of the watch they will be off at the bottom etc.
I went to the dealer and looked at others and although im sure nothing is absolutely perfect mine was the only one that was very noticeable and with the numbers misaligned.

They were very nice and agreed to exchange it very easily. He did say that it was common and after some use it would do the same as the bezel floats on rubber.

Is this true and is it common? Would you guys do the same? I am anal :)

I dont think its common, and I think getting a replacement is justified. you may be anal, but in this case it sounds warranted :lingsrock:

Not a problem that I have ever noticed or heard of, but you paid good money for a new watch. It should be flawless!

Sounds like it turned out well.

I'd have expected an exchange also.

Thanks guys I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking this! Ya its not something you can see from far away but upon close examination most def. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has experienced this? Are the bezel to watch face line up known to be dead on?

I don't have a world, but I had a similar experience with my 6.75. I tried to take it to my local ad and he wouldn't bother with me because I didn't purchase it from him. Even though it had a warranty. For my second ling I bought from an ad just not that one. Needless to say the ad I bought from is taking care of my warranty issue. I now know the importance of buying from an ad. They can always see a customers side if they want to. Can we see some pics of that gorgeous world please?

The exchange is a good result. I'm very glad that it worked out this way for you :D

It would absolutely drive me wild if I knew there was a fault with my Breitling and I had to live with it. When you're happily paying this much for a quality product then you expect perfection, or as close as you can get anyway

If we weren't anal we would be happy with a £10 Casio and wouldn't feel the need for a £4k watch.

We spend the extra and expect the quality IMO

Sounds like you have a good AD ifthey agreed to swap it over that easily

Not anal at all. And, furthermore, don't be apologetic about having to return a watch . These watches are as expensive as they are for , as far as I am concerned, no other reason than the image Breitling creates for them (true of all fine quality brands, so I am not critical of that, per se). The image is that they are finely crafted and engineered "instruments" . I think it quite reasonable to expect them to live up to their own image. Otherwise you will be buying just the name and not what the name is supposed to stand for.

VERY TRUE & NICELY PUT !!!

I would of asked for the exchange already - largely due to the fact that this issue as small and petty as it may seem to some - would be eating me alive in the recesses of my mind - lol - but very true!

Best Regards,

Enezdez

Appreciate all the responses. Well put and I am no longer feeling bad about asking for the exchange! I would love to post pics. I cant do it today but I will have the old watch till Thursday when the new one comes in. I am not wearing it now of course. Perhaps tomorrow I could post a few pictures although I don't know how it will come out if I'm trying to zoom in to show the problem. If not I will most def post pics of my new watch!

Just make sure you use the macro setting.

On a side note, it would kill me inside if my watch had a problem that wasnt my fault. On the flip side, when I screw something up myself, it really doesnt bother me very much.

Well it might go back to Breitling!

Or the AD may try and fix it and sell it gray market.

Not sure what Breitling do with returns, to be honest but wouldn't be surprised to see it returned to the AD network.
