Hi community,

I purchased a Breitling Chronomat Yachting today on Chrono24.
I became a little bit suspicious, unfortunately after i deposited the money in the escrow account.
The case back is the one with the airplane, i guess from the 1984 edition.

Can it actually be that the Yachting has the airplane caseback, a little bit strange, isn’t it?

Would appreciate, if anyone cam give me feedback on breitling casebacks around that time?

Cheers nem23728

Your pictures are very low resolution so we can’t zoom in to see any details. However, Breitling has pushed its aviation credentials for decades, so the inclusion of an aircraft on the caseback is not unusual. This is especially so when a yachting edition is just a variation of a base model.

What I can't see in your second photo due to its size is the reference and serial numbers, but if they match what is on the included documentation, it is possible that the caseback is original to the watch. However, as a caveat, sellers can sometimes fudge the paperwork as well as the watch.

On the downside, your caseback does not look like the caseback on a similar Chronomat Yachting in this blog article. But again, a caveat is that this could merely be a consequence of production variation.

Ref# matches older edition of model and as @arcadelt said it was just a regular edition, so it might came with it.
If there is a serial# on the caseback and papers, they should match.
