Hi All,

I'm a newbie to Breitling and my first question is how can I tell if the Breitling I inherited is genuine? My father in law passed away suddenly last year and at Christmas I was given his Breitling for Bentley watch. Now I know he liked his watched as he had several, but all at a few hundred pounds maybe 1k tops. Now obviously this watch looks to RRP between 6-8k so it's potentially of massive value. In all honestly I not bothered too much if its not genuine as it's his and the sentimental value is more to me, however if it's genuine I need to get some insurance pretty dam quick.

All opinions welcome, I'm in Bristol UK so if anyone knows a local watch guy who maybe able to confirm or deny that would be great.

Cheers Robin :lingsrock:

What are the tell tell signs?

everything. case, sliderule, dial, functions, sunken date.
low grade fake, takes about 0.5 seconds to tell for anyone who has seen an authentic Breitling Bentley GT this watch tries to impersonate.

Here you go Hammy79. Here's a genuine GT -

As Fred says, many tells as to why your one is a fake, but for a very easy one just compare the marking on the subdials.

add to all of the above the model number on the back is for motors not a GT, yet the dial is mean to be a GT
