Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong forum....
I found a Breitling watch at my local antique shop, but I am not sure if its real. they have it listed for $200, so I imagine it's either grossly mispriced, or a really good fake. I think it might be a Chronomat Evolution..?(link attached)

my question: is there a sure-fire way to tell if it's real? can find a serial number, and run it online somewhere? I've tried looking online but I can't seem to find an answer other than "send it to Breitling if you want to be 100% sure"..

any help on this is appreciated.

Difficult to tell by the picture you have posted, however two things are certain - the box is definitely not a Breitling box, and if the watch is real, then you have the bargain of the century!
Fairly certain it will be fake, however, to be sure a frontal picture of the watch will help, there are people on this forum who will be able to tell for certain.

The replicas made today can be excellent reproductions. It is virtually impossible to tell from you photo whether it is counterfeit. However, it would be foolish to assume it is genuine. Only someone knowledgeable enough about the brand, with the ability to open the case back to examine the movement, could reliably confirm. Keep your $200!

No self respecting bricks and mortar store would sell a genuine Breitling mechanical chronograph for 200bucks.
It's beyond logic. Even as a non runner for spares, it'd be worth more.

So, if it's too good to be true.....

By the way, it wouldn't be an Evolution, because they didn't have onion shaped pushers. They were screw down?
The early chronomats had the onion pushers.
