Post subject:  Is this a genuine chronomat evolution?

Hi, it might be a bit late as ive already bought the watch as it is the one that ive always wanted. Anyway after recently seeing how good some of the fakes are these days I just wanted your expert opinion is to make sure its 100% genuine breitling or if i have had my pants taken down.

I bought the watch from ebay from swiss watches uk who are an ebay seller. The watch itself is totaly mint and unmarked which it should be as it was listed as unworn. It came with all its paperwork and boxes so Im hoping everything is ok and its genuine.

It said the dealers name was in Japan so does that meen that was jewellers where it was first registered? Also if the watch is genuine should i get it serviced even though it has more than likely just sat in its box if its true that it is unworn? Its manufacture date is 2008.

I dont know how to post links so here is the item number for the watch when it was on ebay so you can see the photos on there. The listing has ended but if you click on it it will bring the photos up and the description. The item number is 231385290137.

The two photos below are ones I took today of the watch.

Any of your experienced feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It looks OK to me. Breitling doesn't 'register' watches, some regional distributors do, no idea if Japan is one of them. Service intervals are dictated by the breakdown of the oils which occurs at the same rate regardless of whether the watch is worn / run. It's approaching 7 years old and needs servicing if it hasn't had one.

Thanks for your reply. It just seems a little bit over the top as i know they polish up the whole watch as part of the service but there isnt any scratches on it to remove so it wil just be the maintenace side that needs doing but its better to be safe than sorry and ive been looking for a mint version of the evo with roman numerals for ages so i would like to look after it. I will be gutted as i will be without it for 12 weeks and ive only just got it at xmas.
