Guys - I have never bought off forums before so a bit weary in doing so. Link below:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-ft- ... 29542.html

We agreed to Escrow transaction and I actually have the watch in my possession. Looking to get it physically inspected by an AD, but thought I would get your input as well. Comes with box and all papers + rubber bracelet. I have another Breitling and everything looks legit. Warranty Card indicates from "Robert" in Switzerland. Model # and Serial # check out, but no date of purchase included - so how do I know when purchased and how much warranty is left?

Pics I took included below. Can take more if need be. Thanks in advance.

That's the real deal alright, and in great condition. Nice that it comes with an extra strap as well. Not sure about the date though, someone else will have input on that. But you can check the manufacture date between the bottom lugs on the case if you remove the bracelet. First two numbers are the week and last two are the year, followed by B4 or maybe another number. Not sure what that means though. Again nice watch!

Definitely real. Was the watch originally purchased at an AD by the original owner? That might answer the date question if it was not.

More likely to be blank if It was bought from an AD. A 'helpful' AD leaving it blank in case of problems just outside of the warranty period. If no sales receipt is available with details of the original sale date then treat it as no warranty as technically Breitling can refuse coverage with an incomplete warranty booklet.

Thanks MattC. Are you referring to the red border on 3 of the 4 sides? I found that weird as well ...

No problem. No I meant I didn't have any useful input as to why the date was missing from the warranty book. As for the date window border, I'm sure it's just the angle that makes it hard to see the fourth side.

Thanks natesen. Yes, I believe he is the original owner and says it is ~9 months old but I'm looking for a way to confirm. Doesn't Breitling keep a record of sale date by serial # or something???

Thanks Roffensian. So no sales receipt = no warranty, even if I have the Warranty Card? Doesn't seem like a 'helpful' thing to do. What if I wrote in the original sale date if I follow up with seller?

Some of them have that border, some not.
Believe it is added in the production.

No, I have the watch in my possession, and the red border is definitely only on 3 of the 4 sides. Can someone confirm this is how it comes??? I've tried to look at pics online, and most I've seen don't have a border, and the date font is in red.

One other "weird" thing I noticed.

The largest inner dial on the left with 5, 10, 15 on it. I assume this is a minute dial, but it takes exactly 2 minutes to advance 1 notch. For example, it would take 10 minutes to get to the 5 marker. Is that normal? Very different than my Navitimer World ...

Again, I'm a newb so might be overly cautious...

The date window is fine. The chronograph minutes counter should advance once per minute, but this watch has a 30 second chronograph so one minute is two rotations of the chronograph seconds hand.

Interesting, thanks Roffensian. That will take getting used to!

Thoughts on my question re: warranty?

Same answer as before. With an undated warranty Breitling technically have the right to refuse coverage. Would they, who knows.
