Hi All,

I've recently inherited a Ladies Breitling watch and am keen to get it authenticated for house insurance purposes and potential future sale.

I have contacted Breitling UK and they have offered a full service (if genuine) and authentication for £24 at their Tunbridge Wells Branch. I will hopefully be dropping the watch off this week but just wanted to get some initial advice.

I have attached some pictures and would appreciate any help anyone can offer as to whether my piece is the real deal.

I have looked online at fakes and it doesn't seem to have any of the 'fake' characteristics commonly listed.

Thanks in advance,
HB.

Welcome to BreitlingSource, the watch is a real early Callistino.

Really! Can you tell that just from the pictures?
That's great news if it is.
Hopefully Breitling can confirm and issue me an authentication cert.

Any idea on market value?

Have scoured the net RE: the serial numbers but cannot really trace a like for like.

HB.

You don't need to spend money with Breitling to get it authenticated, it's real. There are no remotely accurate fakes of models this early.

I don't generally do value, general consensus is to check completed sales on eBay. There won't be many for this (search for 52043) and because it's quartz the value will be limited - a few hundred pounds in all likelihood.

Thanks that's great.

To insure the item i have to prove it is real.
Only was to do that is with sales receipt or authenticity certificate.
The latter of which im hoping breitling may provide, plus i think a service may be beneficial.

Thanks again for your help.
HB.

Breitling won't service a fake, and even insurance companies should be able to understand that

The service receipt should be all that they require.

My insurance company needs an appraisal, you can get that done at any watch jewelry store that has a service department, just call ahead to make sure that they can do it for you.

The rider tabs (the pieces on the bezel) are gold, the rest is steel.
