SO, after picking up the score of the week with a blue croco deployment (see "Did I get taken on a fake Croc deployment?" about 20 threads down, thanks to Rene for calming my worry), here I am again with a clasp for the sucker.

I have not seen a new-style deployment clasp in person (this is the one with the raised logo), but I have a hard time believing they would change the font face that dramatically and not engrave as deeply as they did on the older model clasps. The new one in the pictures is a 20mm (plastic covering the logo), and I included pictures of the old-style 18mm just for comparison sake (older one is on top in photos of two, all solo photos but one are of the new clasp).

I don't THINK it's a fake, but the serif on the B in BREITLING (as well as just the depth and lack of consistency in the font face) just strikes me as odd, as it doesn't quite have the elegance of the older model (and I'd prefer this to be a fake than someone over there concluding that this looks better).

If you need more detailed photos from different angles, let me know and I'll post 'em ASAP.

It is getting virtually impossible to tell just by pictures now - I couldn't call it based on those.

Well, thanks for the reply anyway Roffensian - These are cellphone pics - do you think it would help if I threw up some 24 mexapixel photos from the DSLR? The main thing that bugs me is the "BREITLING" - if that looked just like the others I have (again, all older series), I wouldn't question it.

Or, should I throw it on a jewelry scale? Would that help? It does feel like it might be lighter

I don't know what they are supposed to weigh, and as I said I find it hard to tell from photos these days because the fakes are getting so good. Wait and see what others have to say.

Weigh it in grams if you can, I have 3 20mm deployments I will weigh them when I get a minute. Post the weight on this thread

Ok I just weighed all 3 of my 20mm clasps here's the results 1 of my raised logo weighed 15.3grams and 1 of my etched logo weighed the same at 15.3grams then my 2nd raised logo weigh 14.5grams

I think I'm going to conclude it's real - it also says A20D.1 on the inside top loop where the longer side of the strap slides in - and it looks perfect (I would think if they got anything wrong, it would be the smallest lettering, but it looks and feels good)

Honestly I have no proof all 3 of mine are real but they all look exact

I'm 99% they all are, I came with my transocean unitime which I bought 6 months old from a authorized Breitling dealer on eBay, the second I bought on eBay from a seller that sells a lot of OEM breitling goods and the third came from a user on this blog.
