Hello fellow Breitling fans, I am considering buying my second Breitling, this one will be a 1996 Chronomat. My concern is that I am getting it from an individual, not an authorized dealer. I am wondering if there is a way to confirm that it is actually a real Breitling and also that it is not listed as stolen. I live in a large city with many authorized dealers, so would one of them be able to tell me if it real and not stolen? Can I call Breitling with the serial number on the case and they can tell me? Thanks

Also, does anyone know what a good deal for this watch would be? It seems to be in pretty good shape.

Just post photos in this thread which I am moving to the replica identification section and we'll soon tell you if it's real. No reliable way to check whether it's stolen - you can try asking an AD, but they may not be able to tell you.

FAQs recommend checking completed sales on eBay or dealer asking prices on Chrono24 for pricing, with a model like this there will be plenty of comparables.

The photos are too small but I am pretty sure it is real.

+3 - Chronomat of this era is likely real if it looks even close to real as that does.

Try emailing breitling with the serial number as they can check if it's been reported to them as stolen.

Also ask if it has ever been back to them for warranty/servicing
