Attachment: Whole watch front.JPG I am a gemologist and jewelry appraiser. I have appraised many watches but I have no experience with Breitling. My client saved all of his life for this watch and he wants to make sure it is authentic. I am hoping that one of the experts here can view these photos and tell me if it is authentic and what the replacement value would be? Can I get an accurate manufacture date from the serial number? Thank you for your time!It looks like I can only add 2 photos at a time - more to follow. |

The watch is a genuine Super Avenger. The diamond bezel is aftermarket, but it seems to have the correct OEM bezel with it. Box and papers are legit. The replacement value varies by year, anywhere from 3200-4800. |

Thank you! What does "OEM" mean? Is there a way that I can find out the year from the serial number to get a correct replacement value? |

OEM = original equipment manufacturer, ie original. If you remove the bracelet there will be a 4-digit code on the watch head between the lower lugs which gives you approx date of manufacture, eg 1408 = 14th week of 2008. |

OEM means "Original Equipment Manufacturing". You can't date it by serial number, but it's not much older than date of sale. If it wasn't serviced, it's worth around US$3200-3400 with its OEM bezel (without diamonds, which are not Breitling OEM). |

OEM just means Breitling original (original equipment manufacturer). You can't determine value by model year - it's not a car, and the diamond bezel will impact value. Watch was originally sold 5 years ago and with no evidence of service history the value is going to be at the low end of MattC's range (at best) discounting the diamond bezel. edit - others beat me to it. |

Thank you! Is there any value associated with the diamond bezel that did not come with the original watch? The plastic is still on the back of the watch - but couldn't it still have been serviced? |

The value of the bezel is basically whatever the diamonds are worth, and that's it. |
