So it's the victims fault? that is harsh! 1) i was asking a "rhetorical" question, not asking anybody to (quickly) "judge" my attitude. 2) if i did not care, i would not spend time reporting things here and on ebay. 3) what i'm saying is that there are good fakes and that is something we need to help people not getting conned with, and then there are "things" that do not even remotely look like a breitling and in this case, yes... is is partly the victim's fault for being gullible... not a judgement, a fact of life, i think... so, am i now an even worse person? ![]() BTW, have you done anything (like reporting the item to ebay) to help the potential victim? or are you here only to judge other members? |

Not everyone does research on what a Breitling 'should' look like, and not everyone is familiar with every model. If a listing clearly states that the watch is fake I'm not concerned, if it states / implies that it is real then I think that it deserves my attention to report regardless of how 'good' the fake is. |

now, that is a healthy debate... ![]() Roffensian wrote: If a listing clearly states that the watch is fake I'm not concerned... fully agree!Roffensian wrote: ... if it states / implies that it is real then I think that it deserves my attention to report regardless of how 'good' the fake is. same here!Roffensian wrote: ... not everyone is familiar with every model. definitely! however...Roffensian wrote: Not everyone does research on what a Breitling 'should' look like... i do think it is common sense that anyone prepared to spend hundreds or even thousands of £/$/€ on a watch should have a fairly good idea of how it should look like... would you - or anybody sensible you know - buy a louis vuitton suitcase for several thousand £/$/€ on ebay without trying to find out "how it should look like"? not being a specialist is one thing; being on another planet is another one. it does not stop me from reporting, etc., but i am just flabbergasted to see what some people are buying... hence my comment. |
