Hello all. I am a happy Brietling owner...a new Superavenger this year! I came across a potential win...or not. I found a watch at a pawn shop. the front bezel is showing a 50th anniversary Navitimer dial with the date window at 6 O’clock (two jets logo). The back of the watch shows a 2004 Hercules engraving with the other usual Breitling engravings very well positioned, embossed..Etc. The number is gk.2188. Has anyone heard of this? Is it a legit Breitling...or a good faker? I have both a croc and leather strap for the watch. I also have a Brakelite box and travel system for it. I do not want to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer if it is not for real! I do not have the official registration documents to support authenticity. Thank you in advance for help!! |

Better to post a few pictures of it, and preferably at least one with the back taken off to show the movement. Otherwise, its very difficult to assess. |

well, if it says "50th anniversary" on the dial and has a date window at 6, it's fake, I'm afraid. there was a Wempe LE w/ the twinplane logo and date at 6, but it has that logo on the dial. |

It does not list "50th" anywhere but has the two jets on the dial. It has the date window on the dial at 6. Thoughts? I will upload pics soon for confirmation. If a fake...not a lot invested thank goodness! The sub dials measure 24 hours, days, and weeks. The second hand sweeps not like a chonometre where the sub dial does that function. |
