Post subject:  Brietling Band Question

I had someone tell me my Colt Chrono watch band was fake because it doesn't have the part numbers on it. Instead it has the letters CCH on the end links. Whats going on with this is it real or not, the watch looks perfect, I had my watch guy open it up and it has the right ETA movement, and its laser engraved with Breitling on it. Also the back of the case has Breitling engraved, so whats the deal with the band?

Your bracelet is real, CCH is the reference (Colt CHrono).
It was made prior than ref# with numbers and a letter came in use.

That's what I thought but this jeweler kept telling me my Watch was fake...he said the band seemed wrong and the watch seemed light in weight. I know it sounds trivial but his tone of voice and the way he was treating me was wrong, I think because I look so young he thought I could never own something like that. But I told him it was real, he was being a real jerk. All I went there for was to check prices on Rhodium plating for my wife wedding ring and he asked to see my watch then proceeded to tell me i was wrong. So I told him that his customer service was terrible and I wont ever be shopping at his Store and I will tell others to not shop either.

Hi Jbezio87,

You dealt with him in exactly the right manner. Some of these guys need to have it pointed out that there customer service levels are not up to scratch. They can be jerks if they really do not know what they are talking about and then carry on to eventually bury themselves even more. Who knows what sort of day he was having or why he turned feral on you. He might have been taken aback that you knew more than he did.

Posting a pic here is the best way of getting serious analysis and debate on real and fakes. So, well done.

Hope you got the plating done elsewhere. That will teach him!

Thank you very much...I might not have the most expensive or nicest Breitling watches, but I do enjoy everyone on here. You all have taught me to notice fakes and replicas and taught me what to look for in a good watch. This is probably one of he most Informative forums on the inter web.
