Very good to hear thanks! Is there any advantage to having a jeweler open back up to look at movement or better not to?? Thanks again for easing my mind, I really appreciate it!

I would have an authorized center open it to check out the condition of the movement and advise on regular maintenance. The watch movement may require cleaning and oils to make sure it is up to par.

I can't see much advantage in that. Most experienced watchmakers seem to be unable to spot the difference between a genuine Breitling/ETA movement and a Chinese clone movement. If the watch is running outside the its COSC accuracy rate, say gain/losing 10-15sec or more per day, it might be worth having it serviced by Breitling.

PS. One disadvantage of this model is that it does not have a quickset date feature. But, you can advance the date one day ate a time by moving the time setting between 8:00pm and 12:00 midnight

I wouldn't!

Much more downside than upside. If the watch needs a service it will tell you soon enough through low power reserve and / or inaccurate timekeeping. I haven't yet met a watchmaker who can look at a movement and know whether the oils have broken down unless there is very obvious evidence of severe abuse (years of operation without lubrication).

My apologies on that. I was thinking of a Breitling service center to properly check the movement and lubrication of the movement. I am thinking of the 5 year window where you could have the regular maintenance performed. I should have typed out my reasoning more thoroughly. Not to check movement authenticity, but proper timekeeping aspects. I apologize if I am incorrect in this thinking, but is not the 5year span the norm for maintenance? Or only if the watch is out of spec for timekeeping?
:D

Sorry Omi, I was replying at the same time as you. Yes, a proper Breitling service centre would OK to checkout the watch, but most independent jewellers/watch repairers would be a a bit clueless in my experience.

PS. I think the Asian clone of the ETA/Valjoux 7753 movement does not have the back-and-forth date quickset feature, so that should be proof that the watch has a genuine 7753 movement.

Most watches have 'quickset' feature to advance the date display to the correct date by turning the crown (when then crown is pulled out to the 'date set' position). This model does not have a quick set function but the date can be advanced by repeatedly moving the set time between 20:00 and 00:00. I believe the Asian fake movement does not have this feature. But trust me, the watch is real anyway as it does not have the telltales of the fake. I'm wearing a verison of this model on my wrist right now!
