Hello all, Looking at this watch. Of course will ultimately have it checked out by a dealer, but wanted to get a quick look from the experts before going through all that. ![]() Thanks in advance! |

Good call, I won't even bother. Amazing how many people out there with no shame trying to pass off a fake. |

It is fake and most of the dealers won't see that. |

kristijan wrote: Fake. Look number 1 on bezel. WOW! These are getting much better. This scared me into looking arround at Skylands in some detail. I have an interest in it as it's on my shopping list. Unfortunetely there are lots of images of fakes returned on Google images, which shows how prevalent these are. Please don't take this as gospel, look carefully for yourself. What I spoted on fakes was (apart from the #1 on the bezel kristijan noted): Lume dots generally are uneven and not central in the background circle. This is most noticable on the lume at "3" which is consistently to close to the date window. Any irregularity with the lume should ring an alarm. Also on lume, the dot at "12" on the bezel appears to be slightly bigger on the fake watches. This is difficult to judge and may need a refrence to compare. Staying with lume again, the triangle at "12" had a round lume dot on some fakes and a poorly filled triangle on others. I also spotted a Blacksteel Skyland for sale recently that looked OK apart from not having the limited edition number on the caseback. The problem is that spotting these needs a good quality image or the watch to examine. Most on-line images would not be high enough resolution for any of the above to be of any use at all! |

OK after seeing this thread I just told my wife I would never buy another Breitling off Craigslist... I can't believe how detailed this watch is. Out of curiosity have the fakes gotten detailed enough to have the manufacture date etched onto the case and bracelet as well as bracelet model? My case is etched in between the lugs with 2407 and again on the first side link from the lug. From what I can see in the picture the subdials are wrong as well. They should be split vertically and depending on the angle it's viewed from one side will shadow. Not so in the picture. Anyway the next watch I get will be from an AD or here only. |

....although, the etched date isn't always accurate. I saw one with "2405" . They didn't make these in 2005. |
