This guy says his watch is 100% real, yet he was going to sell it to me for 800, the strap is not breitling (he said he replaced it) he has no boxes nor any paperwork... Also the minute hand does not look like the normal colt ocean and the serial number on the back is not complete

The first picture the minute hand is completely different, then look at the white on the second picture of the face on the minute hand... you may have to blow up the picture but they are completely different

Photos aren't greatest but it looks real to me, there is no good fake of this watch and the price is probably about right depending on service history. What do you mean by the serial is not complete - they can be variable lengths.

I just thought they were so supposed to be longer the one he has on there... like one part of it deep etched in and then underneath it another lightly etched one...

This is my first time purchasing a Breitling I have other higher end watches but I saw this recently and it caught my eye for the price...should I purchase it?

I can't tell you whether you should purchase it, that's up to you. If you aren't happy with the numbers then get a good photo of the model and serial numbers, but the watch is real.

What do you make of the minute hand being different in both of the face pictures, i just was told that the serial number should be several characters long... his only shows 6 characters, but I have seen other colt oceans... actually every other colt ocean having the serial number to 9 to 12 characters

It is funny... the guys selling me the watch is also from ontario canada

The hands are the same, the lighting is different. A six digit serial number is fine, 9 to 12 digits is not.

That's not a serial number it's a full length reference number, and is never on the caseback of any Breitling, just the short form version (starting with A for SS watches). If you aren't happy then move on, and if you don't believe me then that's fine. The watch is real!

You laugh, but I was almost expecting that accusation this morning after the Ontario comment last evening.

Watch is 100% real (as previously stated).
Ask additional caseback photo, if you want to be sure that serial is intact.

The minute hands are the same IMO. As stated, the lighting is different as is the angle. It's the same concept of viewing a pancake head on versus side only...it looks completely different but it isn't.
