Hi all,

Basically i acquired a Breitling (or thought to be) about 6 months ago from my mother's partner, and was wondering if anyone could confirm/deny it's authenticity, or even to point me towards the right direction of obtaining an appraisal?

I went down to my local jewelers who were very very wary about confirming it's authenticity, however she did suggest that her thought's on the watch were that it was in fact real, but refused to open the caseback. I am personally confident that's it's genuine but obviously when it comes to selling, my word isn't good enough.

To add to my dilemma, a "friend" hustled me out of the box and paperwork in return for 2 pints! Only after looking on Ebay about two weeks later realizing that they were fetching in excess of £100.00!

Anyway, any help/advice would be much appreciated,

regards,

Jack.

There are very good Evo fakes, we're going to need a better photo than that I am afraid - a nice clear close up shot of the dial will be a good start.

Its fake I'm afraid. It has the telltale that the ticks at the cardinals are wrong/inconsistent length (Note that the 44th and 46th sec marks are different lengths)

Is the serial number 2073888 by chance?

:welcome:

This is the v1 Evo replica. As Ade has said, the cardinal marks, "10 tick" and date font give it away.

And not surprising that a member of staff at a Breitling dealer would not immediately spot it as a fake.
