Well that does make sense...he's likely in an urban area if its a cab, and fake watch sellers concentrate in cities. So he buys a $10 Breitling from a lady walking around with a basket, is on the cab, the piece of crap stops working, and he dumps it...then someone else finds it, and is unable to make the connection that a broken watch left on a cab is not a diamond in the rough...

+2 It's disheartening to see a seller with 100 feedback relist this...obviously, they have been told it is a fake, that one is not a close fake so a quick internet search would reaffirm it is a fake, and it's a broken watch...and they go and relist it for a few hundred bucks. Give me a break
