hello everybody, I always read this great forum but never write as don't have much to say compared to average knowledge I can find.
It came for me the great opportunity to own my first breitling, but now I need your great help to know if this one is original or a fake or something else. Thanks everybody for helping!
It's a B13050, with warranty and box, here are some pictures:

Although real, this might be a bit of a franken. The dial looks much earlier than a x13050 due to those pie pan subdials. The warranty card is dated 2008 which so is about 10 years too late for this model so probably doesn't match the watch. The box is a fake, the small logo and branding on the outer box is the giveaway.

You guess that the other serial numbers, those covered, are different between paper and watch?

The warranty card might match the watch but the date looks wrong given its dated 2008 and the watch is from the late 1990s. It might be that the original AD left the date blank and somebody has filled in the date several years later. The outer cardboard box is definitely fake, so you must treat the paperwork with suspicion.

The dial is a real Breitling one but I'm still thinking it's from the earlier x13048 version of the Chronomat due to the printed rather than applied dial logo. (Some of the dial paint has been scraped off the chapter ring at the 10 o'clock position that would indicate the watch has been inexpertly dismantled at some point in its history)

if it's only the date, it could be ok, but may be that also case number are fake? I mean that they are different from the watch case?

is it coeval with the marking on the rotating mass inside? I mean: already on x13048 the rotating mass was signed like that?

really appreciate your help!

The dial might be from 13048 as well as date wheel, but it's not uncommon to see that mixtures from that period.
Watch is all original and I wouldn't be bothered with that or the fake box.
Don't know exactly when they started to supply that set of papers, but I think they are to recent for that model.

You mean original parts and coeval? Or oringinal but mixed by some faker?

Is there a way to check if the paper is definitiely his, maybe originally with blank date?

It happened before that some of the watches from that age are not completely consistent.
Sometimes because of the service and I believe that it also might happen at the factory, if they run out of parts just in the middle of production when the ref# was changing (that is just my personal opinion). Faker wouldn't use genuine parts.

Not sure, maybe some of our members who are ADs might help.

Thanks for the enlightenment Bnewbie. That might explain why the dial, with that date window border, looks a bit of a 13048/13050. hybrid. The warranty card looks correct for the late 1990s, but not sure you can check it matches the watch. The box is total junk though.

The inside box is probably fake too and doesn't match the era of the watch anyway.

Post subject:  Re: Please help : is this a franken?

ok, so, to summarize:

- watch: all original but not coeve, thus a franken
- warranty: probably a blank one retrieved somewhere and badly fullfilled
- boxes: fake

is the analisys correct?
