Hi guys,

Is this real? It looks it to my untrained eye. But you guys have saved me a few grand already with your expertise, so i'll leave it with you.

Bad fake. I could tell from the first thumbnail pic! General checks to make on a Navi (and other Ling chronos) is by comparing with a reference pic of the specific model (I usually use Blowers as they a a good archive of hi-res pics of a range of Breilting models). Check that that the subdials have correct spacing/markings and that the date is flush to the window with the correct font (You can't make this last check on this one as the date display is missing!)

Just note the subdial values.

:yeahthat In this specific example, the subdials are wrong. The top subs are marked to "7" and "31" which implies that watch is a perpetual calendar and not a chronograph.

Yeah, this really isn't close.

The subdials are marked for day / date as indicated and they are way too close together. The sliderule stamping is much less refined than it should be and the buckle and caseback are just laser etched.

A the others have said, a careful check of the sub-dials vs a pic of the gen will pick up 90% of fakes.

The better ones do at least have the right numbers but have other tell tale errors.

If you look at the watches posted here, you'll soon start to pick up on the signs.
