Sorry but the clasp is fake. The hinge extends too far abd the inner geometry of the push button area is wrong. If the strap smells like vanilla, it is fake as well.

Should i email the seller and ask for a refund and send it back ?
Or should I contact eBay directly ?
The seller seems to sell a lot of watches ....

Can someone show me a real one so I know what to look for ?
Don't want to fall for this again
Thanks guys

Why didn't you post this one before buying it like you did with the other?

Send the seller an email on Ebay and tell him that the strap is fake.
OPEN a Case ( Not as Described Case) on Ebay right away even if the seller tells you that he will issue you a full refund after you shipped the item back.

I took the strap & clasp to 3 authorized dealer in my city today.
3 different stores, that sell breitling

AD 1) Looked at it for about 5 minutes and said it looks real to me
AD 2) Showed me 2 different types of Gen OR clasp, one with a circled push button, and one without the circle around the push.
AD 3) Compared it to a gen strap & clasp that was on a watch in the store, the letters was a little different on the push, and little other size on the word breitling, he said breitling probably does not make these them self, that they have another supplier that makes them, and by the years they change parts sometimes, so it does not mean that its fake he claimed, but to be extra sure, he said i should email breitling with a lot of pictures and try and ask them to see if they can tell.
And he said it sure "feels" real, but he was not 100%

Im having a hard time here making up my mind after speaking to 3 different stores...
But ill give the email thing a try, see what they tell me.

Thanks

It's clearly fake. On your other thread I told you that you can tell the fakes because where the extending part of the clasp (the bit that you can't see when closed) attaches to the main part of the clasp the casting should be rounded - the top of this is clearly flat.

I'm feeling rather stupid here, can you circle the part with red on a picture ?

And maybe show me how it should look like ?
Since English is my second language ...I'm not sure what part you mean ..

I have emailed breitling in my country and asking for help

I might just have to report this to eBay / PayPal / my visa card ...and try and call my money back

Thanks

I think I know where you mean
There are 2 different gens then
I saw one with round ones and one with squared at the AD today
But just to be sure show me what part you mean

Thanks

Yours attached and circled in red, real one attached and circled in green - look at the part circled - yours has a flat top and is wider, the real is rounded and narrower.

There clearly are different versions, but I've never seen that casting on a real one. Wait for sharkman to stop by, he has studied a few of these from other threads and can likely give you 100 differences.

The pictures you showed me, I have seen both versions at the AD yesterday
Maybe something new ?
The breitling dealer had both of them. ....

The one with round parts had the circle around the button
The one with flat parts had the push button without circle around the text

He claimed that the must have different versions of it

Sorry, but can you please explain which part? To me it looks like the fake is flat? I would like to learn how to tell. Thanks

Ok i have emailed the seller now on ebay, and i have explained the situation to him.
Lets see if he is willing to work something out.

Since im not 100% sure its gen, and the ADs :poke: are not sure about it,
but you guys seem to know alot about this, im trusting you guys.

I have told him i want my money back, and i will send it back to him if not next step is ebay / paypal / breitling / credit card holder

See how this plays out..

Thanks alot

He emailed me back he said

"Hello, this was no fake. I have seen the strap in detail and you can also have a look into the auction when I bought it (251016088901)"

http://www.ebay.de/itm/251016088901#ht_500wt_1413

But that does not make it a gen...

Don't return the strap to the seller yet up until you have opened a Not as Described Case with Ebay.
