Following on from my thread in the general forum, I'd like to know if the watch I bought is real or not. The pictures aren't great. But as soon as the watch arrives, I post some better ones.

As I said in my original post, the auction has been and gone now. i know its shutting the gaye after the horse has bolted, but here's the link to the completed listing. As I say, the pictures aren't the best (another reason not to buy, I know), but the guy had good communication and 'said' he was a watch dealer.

The thing that swung it for me was that in his feedback, one bloke said that the item he received was fake, but he got a full refund. Counterintuitive perhaps, but it made me feel the guy was genuine at least, even if the watch isn't.

See what you think:

as you said, pics are not too great, but most probably the watch is real. Just check that the serial number on your watch matches the COSC certificate and the warranty booklet, but imho u should be ok.

Phew? Really?!!

Thanks! That's good to know. It puts my mind at ease for the time being. When it arrives, I'll take some proper photos and put them up, and if someone could guide me through what serial numbers to check and where to find them, that would be great.

Thanks for all your help so far guys.

That's very reassuring. Believe me, the first thing I'll do is post some clear pics. But in the mean time, can anyone explain the difference in the numbers on the face to the ones I've seen and am more familiar with?

These look solid, most I've seen have a rather snazzy split in the middle.

It's a different model than the one with the split, the one with the split is the Skyland, some seawolfs have it also (chrono).

First thing to do is check the s/n on the watch matches the paperwork. If they do, it's 99.9% certain that it's genuine.
