Hi All,

Just got this piece today, the bracelet is fake, watch seems real to me, but would love you guys to look at my horrible pictures to let me know what you think. I really am bad at taking pics, and with a combination of a scratched watch, it is even worst. There is a serial number under the model, but there is no way I can see it or catch it on camera, will try to get a good magnifying glass tomorrow to check it out.

Could someone please tell me what bracelet type and size will fit the piece, I hate fake, so I will be searching for a real one to replace. Although watch runs, I might possibly send it out to Breitling for service, do you think this watch is even worth it? BUSA will charge around $600 for it I think, same as other chronos, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks much for all the help in this great forum!

I think the the complete watch is a fake. Wrong sweep second hand and and dial for a B13047. Should be on a B13050. Back looks fake too. Should look like this:

You can see the difference in quality and where the B13047 is located. Suggest you take the back off to be sure.

I think that it's OK, never seen a fake remotely this good on older models. I've also never seen a fake bracelet stamped chrono / duog and that looks real to me too.

Roff, drink some coffee and check the pictures again. Explain the difference in the dial, hands, and back. Don't see where the bracelet is anything like the original. :poke: The only variation on the B13047 back is when it's also marked 81950 during the reference number transition period.

The watch is real, but not all parts are from the same period (most probably because of service).

Sure, but that bracelet is on the photos which Paul uploaded.

No, real.

But as noted hands are not period correct, likely due to servicing.

Thank you, hope it was serviced by Breitling, going to call them, but you know how they are about releasing information over the phone. Is there another location where the serial number would be, the serial number on the case back is so small I can't see it.

Serial number is also on the movement.

Someone is going to need to show me another one with a back like that before I'll agree it's original. Ok, maybe the dial and hands have been replaced although I don't know why someone would put the wrong dial in there when they're still available as a Breitling service part for the 13047. (Just had one done) The back is obviously different than anything else I can find and the fact he can't see the serial number would indicate something is amiss. Crack that baby open and lets see what's inside.

Vintage, your wish is my command!
Though it is not tempting inside of it...I think you were right!

I forgot to take a picture of the back of the caseback, it does say Breitling, but I think it's still a fake.

Although early Chronomats had no branding on the movements, I would have thought there would be branding on the rotor by the 1990s. Is there any ETA/Valjoux markings on the movement? I would expect to see "7750" stamped on the movement, next to the balance wheel but I can't see it in the photo.

I can barely make out the 7750 and Valjoux logo near the balance wheel. Looks like the movement is correct although that back still bothers me until I see a clear picture of another one.
