TBH accessories are so easy to fake convincingly these days that you're better off paying a couple of quid more and buying from an AD just to be sure.

That's very true, we can all be victims of the 'tempting bargain'. Anyway, a polished deployant wouldn't suit my CA so would have to have it brushed anyway.
