I've come across a seller in Los Angeles selling the increasingly hard to get Diver Pro 1 straps. He's called pirateofsevensea2011.

First I had a look at his advert for a black strap - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280732864492? ... 1423.l2649

OK, the photos are poor, and the colour's off - but the strap looks OK - layout and reference numbers seem spot on, and the raised buckle suggests it's probably genuine.

Then I noticed he's also got the Blue version, here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Breitling-blu ... 415ce01979

Alarm Bell 1! The eagle-eyed will have noticed the reference on the Blue Strap is the same as on the Black, i.e. 120S. I've got some AD-supplied Blue DP1 Straps and mine have a different reference, namely 121S.

Alarm Bell 2: This seller also has some other items for sale - his main line seems to be car tires. Rubber. Hmmm...

So is this guy 'rolling his own'? Or is there possibility that is could be OK?

What do we think?

Ta,
Mike 8)

To me, I think they look fine, but I get them cheaper from my AD, and there you know you're getting the real thing.

And tires?

WTHeck, I've wondered when they would get around to steel belted straps.

ok, i've bought a blue strap from them, and when it arrived, its lookes fine, but was very stiff compared to my previously owned diver pro. also, it smelled really bad, i cant say waht it was smelling but, the smell was awefull, and i was never able to get rid of it.

i tried to put it in water with soap for 2 days, then i was so pissed off, that i put it in javex for 3 hours, when i took it out, the smell was still tehere but the rubber was melting.

i dont recommand buying from them
