Okay guys; Is this Steelfish serial number correct? It does not look like same as the one on my Superocean pro. Did they change how they etch numbers, or is this due to flash, lighting etc?

Nicely done. The first place I look on a pre-owned Ling is the chimney and that one is damn near perfect. Seems to be the best quick indicator of the condition of the rest of the case. Congrats!! :lingsrock:

You lost me there, Tom. What's a chimney, in terms of how it's related to watches? I've checked a watchmaker glossary and didn't see it.

I always understood the part between the crystal and the bezel to be the chimney. But either way - the polished portion in that area on a Breitling. That is where I scan first, plus the top part of the rider tabs. I can rule one out pretty quickly that way. Usually if the "chimney" (if that is the correct term) and the tops of the rider tabs are perfect, so is the top of the bezel and then the rest seems to follow. Of the entire head of a Breitling, those are the most likely dinged areas. If they are clear, chances are the owner is careful with the watch.

It is the correct term.

Cool. I just learned a new term. Thanks for the insight, Tom.

Hey Thanks guys! I have been travelling. This is the first time I've been near a computer. This watch was reported as 2 months old and worn twice under suit when I bought it. I'd say that was fairly accurate.
