Are the model and serial numbers always written on the back? Someone is trying to tell me the model isn't on the back of a chronomat he's selling

Model number is always there (at least on recent pieces), serial number is there unless it has been removed which grey market sellers tended to do a lot until a few years ago. Assuming that we aren't talki ng an original (i.e. 60+ years old) Chronomat it should have the model number on the back.
