Post subject:  Prospective purchaser with probably really dumb question

Hi everybody, I have a question which is probably really dumb, but I gotta ask anyway.

I would really like to buy a new Breitling and I have done a lot of research about these beautiful watches online. I have been pretty shocked about the amount of fakes reported as being out there. I am therefore planning to buy only in person from an Authorized dealer.

I have read a lot about how some of the newer replicas are so good they can even fool the ADs.

My question is: If you buy new from an AD is it a certainty that the watch is genuine? These fakes don't somehow find their way into ADs shops, do they?

Also, would this hold true for other brands like Rolex and Omega? I.e. when buying new from an AD can you be sure that the watch is genuine?

I know this must seem really paranoid, but I just have to ask, and this seems to be where all of the experts are.

Welcome aboard.
Don't worry abut buying from AD, they order from manufacturer.

:welcome:

The possibility of an employee switching a genuine watch for a fake is infinitesimally small. Just check the s/n of the watch matches the paperwork and you can buy with 100% confidence.
