Just curious if the stainless steel Avenger Seawolf's are a common one to fake. Have an oppotunity to buy this one. I am requesting more pics. Thanks!

There are fakes of just about every current model.

Get better pictures, but I'm sure that one's real.

I came across a half decent fake the other day:

OK more pics including the warranty card. Some concerns...Darva Jewelers in Tarzana, CA is not on Breitling's website and the date of purchase is not written in. The s/n on the watch back does match the card tho. Do grey market watches still come with the warranty card?

What do you guys think? I asked him for a pic with the current date and he changed it and sent it to me (last pic). The watch also comes with the steel bracelet which I prefer. Not sure I like the blue strap. Thanks.

The Avenger Seawolf is one of the best Breitling replicas out there.

This one looks fine to me and the paperwork backs it up.

If you don't like the blue Diver Pro strap, sell it on eBay. For some reason, they sell for a premium.

Thanks....and that's what I would do. Try to sell it.

Can someone clarify if a grey market product would come with the stamped Breitling warranty card? As I mentioned I did not find Darva Jewelers in CA on the Breitling website. Plus the date of purchase is not filled out on the card. I am actually going to call Breitling USA and also Darva Jewelers and find out if the watch has been registered and if they are an AD. Any thoughts on this piece maybe being grey market?

One last question..this may be an in person deal since he lives close to me in NYC. I am fearful of paying cash because what if I get the watch home and it stops keeping time, etc? Would you guys insist on PayPal even for in-person deals? He saw a WTB post I made on TimeZone.com but doesn't have a registered name. He did give me his eBay screen name and has 100% feedback (17). Anyway bottom line is would you pay cash? Less concerned with being a fake but concerned it is a good watch.

Thanks.

I doubt that it's grey market because there likely wouldn't be a warranty card at all.

Darva likely were an AD or have a different trading name / registered name - I've seen that before, there is no way that the name would be punched into the card if they weren't authorised at the time.

The blank date is often done by ADs to try to help buyers who have issues slightly more than 2 years after purchase, but BUSA are clamping down on that now.

In terms of cash vs. paypal, I guess that comes down to personal choice, but if you aren't certain enough about the transaction to pay cash then maybe look for a deal that you are more comfortable with - buy the seller, then the watch.

Actually talked to Darva today. They were authorized dealers of Breitling until two years ago. This watch was sold by them when they were AD's. Some opportunistic buyers bought lots of Darva's inventory as they were leaving Breitling. This one buyer then sold this watch on eBay to the guy that is selling it now to me.

I am still not sure how to handle the blank date on the warranty card. I certainly want to register the watch with Breitling but I would think if I dated it the day of purchase (the next couple of days) Breitling would throw a flag since Darva is no longer an AD. How should I handle this? I do want to register the watch with Breitling in my name and to date it has not been registered at all. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It sounds as though the two year warranty has expired anyway, so just ignore the warranty card - you don't need it for regular paid service.
