I came across this watch and wish your expertise on whether it is real or junk. Thanks to all who have shared their knowledge. I am enjoying this site tremendously.

I assumed so after reading through some of the info on this site, but it is always good to get the opinion of those more knowledgeable than myself. The best part about this whole deal to me, is that I have found this site. Looks like I am going to have a few weeks worth of reading material ahead.

Thanks,

Wilk

What model are they trying to copy? I ask because if there is a real model that it mimics I would like to see how many differences I can come up with w/o assistance. I'm one of those wierd people who find detail work like that fun. :)

Thanks,

Wilk

No fun here on this one. It's not copying anything at all except the Breitling wings and name. :)

:yeahthat Hence my comment. There are some fakes that do a respectable (or sometimes scarily excellent) job of passing themselves off as the real thing. Then there are those that are really rather ridiculous, because they not only look nothing like any watch Breitling (or any other brand) has ever made, but I'm hard pressed to understand how some of their features are even supposed to work as horological devices at all. For a good chuckle, check out Sharkmouth's Hall of Infamy, which shows some of the most outlandish Breitling fakes conceived. You'll notice there's one on there fairly similar to yours. Not to make you feel bad...you're new to this. But once you see what the really bad ones look like, you'll be able to spot them pretty quickly. Then you can just wonder about the better ones.
