Enough said. I have the exact same watch. I would be careful with the SOS from other that AD because the rep is on the extreme as far as positive identification. But with the supporting docs, it is probably a good deal. It does look like the one on my wrist! R/ |

But with the supporting docs, it is probably a good deal. It does look like the one on my wrist! . R/ Agreed, but there are some tells. I have seen an a few exceptional fakes in person - correct date wheel/font, size, weight. But they never quite get the blue color correct - either a shade dark or too bright. The silver dial is scary good. The lume on the hour markers is not as flat as the genuine - it is mounded. The tail on the S in Superocean does not widen smoothly as on the real. In other words the Chinese don't nail the fine details of the dial. Close but still some tells on the dial. The biggest tell are the rounded screw heads on the bracelet. While the real deal has screw heads that are not perfectly flat, the fake has clearly rounded screw head. There is one other I noted on a visual inspection - the outer rim of the fake is consistently not quite as "sharp" as the genuine. You can see it with the dial at about a 20 degree angle downwards and a foot or 2 from the eye. The pics above show a perfect bezel edge on some of the close up angled shots. The devil is in the detail, I guess. But this one is real. |

I appreciate all the feedback. I am not 100% sure on the tells and gladly welcome more for future reference. I do love this watch, but I am left feeling that I wish it was a tad larger. I am used to the oris 47mm tt1 ti chrono watch......never had one that is a 44mm that looks like a 42 because of the bezel....It will grow on me I am sure. |
