Post subject: | New member and my search for a navi (bought one!) |
Hello all, i've been reading this fourm top to bottom for the last week or so (great info) as i've decided to take the plunge and buy my 1st breitling. I've had my eye on a navitimer for a number of years but i've never been in a position to buy one. Times change and i can now justify the initial outlay. Being a tight scot however i'm dipping my toe in the water slowly and am going to buy a pre-owned example. I reckon the watch will be used daily and will take a bit of abuse cycling to and from work and then take a good old shakedown on the motorbike in the evenings and at weekends so i fiugure a 2nd hand one would be more fit for purpose. I have spent the last 2 weeks doing all the footwork, going around all the watch dealers in my area and making as many calls as I can to see if there are any pre-owned examples in the market at the moment. Alas, i seem to be searching for a needle in a hay stack. Plenty of pre-owned breitlings but no navitimers, i tried on a montbrilliant legendé which was amazing, but my wrists are not the biggest and it looked like i was wearing my dad's watch! I've widened my search a bit and have been trawling e-bay. I've found something which fits my requirements and it all looks legit to me, it fits all my criteria with having the leather + deployment and the SS strap. I'm looking for a bit of feedback as i'd hate to buy a lemon. I know that the pics are not the greatest, but i have e-mailled the seller to see if i could get some of the dial and the caseback just to see that all is correct. What do you all think: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Breitling-Navitimer_W0QQitemZ190385036969QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL?hash=item2c53d51ea9 cheers |

![]() I'd like better pics but my initial reaction is genuine. You've asked for the right pics. Check the serial number on the watch is the same as that on the COSC (2334722) and warranty book. |

I checked the Elite Deal Seeker http://www.elitedealseeker.com/?category=watches and couldn't see any in the UK. You'll obviously have checked eBay yourself. You could try Andrew Michaels to see if he has any. Link at top of screen. Or why not put a WTB in the buy/sell section? Nothing to loose. |

Totally, just far enough away and blurry enough to stop me clicking the buy it now button. Here’s one of my pet hates; you e-mail a seller and get no reply for days. If was selling a big ticket item like this and got requests for pics etc, I’d at least respond to keep potential buyers happy. Now I appreciate that people have work & family commitments so can’t always respond straight away but I hate waiting for new toys with the $ burning a hole in my pocket. Rant over…. |

touché. However, i'll wait till the weekend before giving a final judgement. People work away etc etc. Just annoying because this package is exactly what i'm after. |

Okay, so the last seller was a complete no show. However, one has came up for sale in my home town - no box or papers though (house burglary) but the watch looks real to me. What do you all think? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280489830260&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:GB:1123 |

Pity. Looked a good package. Whilst I'd prefer to see paperwork with this latest one, it looks OK to me. Added to that, I can't recall ever seeing an Arabics Old Navitimer replica. The only ones I can currently find available are batons. Only other comment I'd make is not to be in a rush. The last one was 3-6-9 with bracelet, deployant and paperwork. This one is 6-9-12 and no deployant or paperwork. Is it really what you want? There are a lot of Navis about so you don't have to grab the first you see. |

Actually, i'm not too fussy about the subdial layout on the face. I will eventually have a deployment and a SS bracelet. I must have looked at about 40 over the last few weeks but what annoys me is not being able to see before i buy, this one is close so i can at least speak to the seller (which i have done already). The only thing i'm not sure on is the numbers on the face rather than hour markers. I spoke to Andrew Michaels last week so am expecting a call this week to let me know what he has in stock too. |

He's selling server material and stuff, maybe its gen but it sure looks stolen to me. |

I asked for the serial number and ref number but he only sent the ref no serial,at least with the serial you can call BUK to see if its gen.I would tread carefully By the way I got my Old Navi from Petersparker on ebay and found him ok I offered £500 below his asking and he took it,all papers and boxes, with a 7 day return policy ![]() I added the TT bracelet later it came on leather |

The auction has been ammended to say that the papers have been requested from BUK. Keeping an eye on this one. |
