It's a fake.

The font on the day / date is wrong and there is much too much white space between the bezel and the numbers on the slide rule. Compare with a real one here - http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... ey_43.html

Would anyone be able to confirm if this Navitimer is real or fake? My friend bought this from the same guy that was selling the Bently GT!

Thanks again!!

That looks like a real Montbrillant Legende - don't recall any decent fakes of that one.

Sorry Roff, have to disagree. There are some decent Legende replicas out there and looking at the date font, I would not say this one's genuine.

I could be wrong so, as always, ask for pics showing the s/n on the watch matches the paperwork. If not, walk away.

Wasn't aware of the good replica. The font is close if not correct, but given the track record with the other watch there obviously have to be suspicions.

Other than the sunken date, pretty good.

Yeah, still not convinced on the OPs, the angle makes it tough to see if the date wheel is sunken or not.

font actually looks quite ok to me, although I am not sure about the "sunken date" question. The fact that it seems improperly aligned might be due to the fact this particular movement starts the date change earlier than mine ?

My call is that the OP's Monty is fake, there a gaps between the outer scale markings and the innner edge and its not even consistent.

you are absolutely right, the gaps are quite inconsistent on the OP's watch.

compared the date fonts only and did not notice the gaps, had to put the two pics side by side.
date font (the 2, at least) seems good, but the date ring seems quite a bit lower than on the original

fake. unbelievably & frighteningly good fake, though.

Edit: here is the "side-by-side":
