I can get some great prices from Chrono24 and similar sites but what effect does this have on the type/duration of the Breitling warranty. It's my first Breitling and I want to make sure I know exactly what I'm getting in to, I guess it may not all be about the money.
Thanks for your help.

The ad for the watch (certainly on chrono24 and quite a few other sites I have used) normally state if the watch come with all the orginal paperwork inc the 2 or 5 year electronic international warranty.

In short, the watch carries the warranty.

It depends what you mean by "similar sites".

Chrono24 is like eBay, a marketplace where most watches are considered used so may or may not have remaining warranty. Online dealers of new watches - PrestigeTime and the like are grey market dealers who rarely offer a warranty.

Good point, what about Prestige and Swiss Watches Direct. I'd be buying new at apparently very good prices but what happens to the Breitling warranty?

If you are buying new the warranty should come with the watch.

Absolutely NOT.

They are grey market dealers, very, very unlikely to have any factory warranty.

Not true, most of them get from ADs with the proper electronic warranty card etc, they are registered by the AD a few days before shipping.

At least that is my experience of Chrono24, Chronext and precisiontime based near Manchester.

The vast majority of grey market dealers withhold warranty to protect the sourcing AD. Regardless of your experience with a small number of vendors it is a tiny minority of grey market sales that include factory warranty.

Then I would suggest the OP gets it in writing that the watch is brand new, comes with all the official paperwork and electronic warranty card and pays with a credit card.

There are significant regional variations, which explain the differences in this exhange. In the US, as I understand it, and as Roffensian says, the factory warranty is rare. In the UK, as Arcam says, factory warranty is standard with the well-known, larger grey dealers. OP certainly needs to ask.

Despite being UK based I'm not advocating going grey, fwiw; being risk-averse and preferring to cultivate a relationship with an AD I have always bought from an AD and indeed forum sponsor.
