Everyone, Beware of govberg jewelers. After 2 days of hassle and torture, I gave up on buying from them ! You got the choice: go there in person to prove ur real or put up with FBI inquiries from their finance dept ! If you're like me, working during the week in north jersey, you dont have time to spend a day driving to phillie. I thought calling would be easy and their sales person, Alaina, was very nice and helpful. I faxed my details and copies (color and black/white) 3 times, emailed them all non critical info. Too dark.....too unclear......typo in first name on 1 document! Jezz. Takes me less work to buy a Z3 ! And on top of all, she asks me to email pictures of my credit card ! Security ? Not for me ! Today alone, I must have sent them 5 different copies of my id. I've never encountered such a multi checkup except after 9/11 at airports, and just to buy a $6k watch ! Ridiculous ! Do they think they are the government ?! For my part, I'm thrue with them ....at least for this century ![]() And I'll go back to my normal orologio store in short hills who offered me almost the same deal. Good service is well worth $300 ! Good luck to whoever wants to put up with them ! They're all yours ![]() |

I've bought 3 watches from George at Govberg and have had nothing but top quality customer service. I have recommended them to at least 4 of my friends and will continue to do so. |

Deal with George I have bought two watches, multiple straps, clasps/deployments no problems. The very first time I did business with them they wanted a scan of my drivers license but that was hardly difficult. I actually appreciated they matched my mug up with my name/CCard info. Beats having someone lift my info and them blindly accepting it and sending multi-thousands of $$$ worth of watches to someone I don't know and the hassle that results. Sorry you had problems. |

I bought my blue dial Chronomat from them. All they wanted was the front and back of my Driver's License and Credit Card, which is no more or less than they need and the same thing they would ask for in person. No different than Provident - our other US AD forum sponsor. But then, I took the time to make decent copies that were legible. Really, if you had a store would you sell a $6K watch to a total stranger without legible copies of the info? These businesses get ripped off from time to time. But who knows, maybe this would work in person - ![]() |

They're just doing their due diligence. If the names don't match up on everything, like if the name on your ID doesn't match up with your credit card, there's no point in risking sending out a $6K watch only to have it come back as a fraudulent charge. |

Post subject: | All cleared up |
Hi everyone, Yep. Had several emails and talked to George. Seems they had several fraud cases and security check is much tighter. Anyways, George cleared everything and it's good. Really good people ! Alaina too. Just a bad day for everyone. I'm getting my navitimer at last. Basically, it just reflects the sudden increase in fraud over the season. Seriously, beware everyone of fraud ! Thanks everyone, I appreciate your feedback. German |

Talk to George. Know the man personally and can say nothing bad about him. Plus, if I'm not mistaken he is one in charge there now(at least for sales) so he could possibly fix the misunderstanding quickly. PS. If trust is your issue (in regards to sending photo of CC) you should have no worries. I send it to him constantly. $hit, he probably knows mine by heart at this point. |
