I thought that I should warn anyone who is contemplating using either of these two companies? Be very careful.
I was searching for a watch, a gift for a business partner,I found it on Chrono24. A supposed new Breitling Superocean. I contacted the ”trusted dealer”, Watch.de who assured me the watch was new and they were a legit company. I paid for the watch by paypal. Two weeks later the watch showed up,boxed with what looksnlike genuine documents although a local Breitling dealer says he has never seen a box like mine.
On close inspection it had a scratch on the upper left body of the watch and a very bad graze on the strap clasp, it had obviously been worn.
I was dismayed, I contacted Watch.de and sent it back on their Fed Ex account, two weeks later I received the watch back, the scratch on the body had been buffed out, the watch still had traces of the buffing compound on it, the graze on the clasp was still visible, too bad to be buffed out.On closer inspection I found that 3 of the screws on the watch trap had burrs on them , meaning, the strap had been used. How could I give this as a present?
I contacted the dealer Watch.de, they did not respond. I contacted Chrono24 who emailed back to say they had contacted Watch.de who said the watch must have got damaged in the post. I emailed back my disgust but got no response.
Conclusion, Chrono24, earns money from dealers, so when they say "has no known claim against them”, it is means nothing as it is not actually possible to make a claim against a dealer.I have a claim against Watch.de which has been ignored. Do not trust either Chrono24 or Watch.de, buy locally and inspect the watch fully before purchasing. :guns:

In my opinion Chrono24 is one of the most helpful and responsive marketplaces out there - they respond very quickly to issues with fakes.

They do have a shocking approach to 'trusted seller' - it basically means that they have had their account for 90 days and have paid their bills on time, but considering that they just act as a facilitation between independent buyers and sellers I don't think that they can be expected to do much more. Different story with the seller obviously.
