Post subject:  Question about Govberg

I've read the reviews on here, and it's clear that George and the folks at Govberg are great to deal with. My question is, are they REALLY an authorized Omega dealer? So if I buy a PO from them, it will come with the manufacturer warranty, and I can take it to ANY AD in my area, is that correct? Their prices are hands down better then anything else I've found. Which is what makes me feel like it's too good to be true. I was at a local AD last night, and the price they gave me for the same watch from Govberg was like 800 more. Granted I wouldn't have to pay tax through Govberg, so that makes up some of the difference. I'm ready to pull the trigger, I'm just concerned spending so much money with someone I've never met, at a store I've never been in, for a watch I've never seen (talking about the specific watch I would buy, I've seen POs in person). I'm naturally over cautious, so I just want to make sure everything Govberg says is legit. Like I said it just sounds too good to be true.

Govberg are authorised dealers for 50+ brands, including Omega - http://govbergwatches.com/watches.asp

I've been on their site and see that they claim to be an authorized dealer, I'm just making sure. Like I said I'm a little skeptical because it feels to good to be true. How can they beat the competition so much on price while still having to ship it over night? Plus, on the Omega site, it only shows the Govberg in Bala Cynwyd when you use their store locator. Does that mean that only that specific Govberg is an authorized dealer and the other locations they have are not? How does that work?

Also, if I buy from Govberg and need to use the manufacture warranty I can bring it to ANY authorized dealer, right? How would an authorized dealer near me know if my watch was in fact purchased from an AD and still covered under warranty? Is it from the serial number, or is their a card or some kind of paper work I'll receive that will be filled out by Govberg that shows the warranty, etc...?

Govber has 3 locations. I believe the Bala Cynwald store is the only one with Omegas since I don't recall seeing them at their main store on Walnut street. Trust me though, they are an Omega AD. There was a member on here who just bought a PO from George not too long ago, here is the thread:

You have no worries buying from them. The international warranty will be valid with any Omega AD, so yes, you can take it to a local AD if you need to.

Why would a respected AD for so many brands risk everything by falsely claiming to be an AD for a brand that they don't carry????????????

Not only do these fine folks say it's so - Omega says it's so on thier website under AD locator:

I guess I'm being overly paranoid. Like I said this deal just seems too good to be true. I went to a local dealer here last night, Mayors, and they were off on the price by several hundred dollars. So it baffles me how Govberg can afford to sell it for less and still have to pay for overnight shipping costs. Either way, I'll be glad when the watch gets here on Monday.
