Here is the original sale thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20239

The buyer sent me a pm and agreed to my sale price of $3300. Payment was sent to my paypal account and the buyer asked if I could overnight the watch since he was leaving on a trip. Me, being to trustworthy of people, agreed. I felt something fishy, so I posted a question on paypals help center if the money in my account was safe. I also called paypal and one of their representatives ASSURED me that there would be no issues and it was safe for me to send the item. So I did.
I sent it via UPS, insured, overnight, at no extra charge to the buyer. The item was delivered and signed for the next day. I have reciepts and proof of everything.
I get an email from paypal today that the transaction is being disputed.
I have all the pm's exchanged from the buyer and myself as well as proof that the exact watch in the for sale thread was indead the watch that was sent.
I have sent everything to paypal proving this. Just waiting for their response.

I can post all pm's exchanged between myself and the buyer if needed.

I had a problem with a buyer on a watch I sold. The buyer and I exchanged several PMs, agreed on the price and the payment was sent using paypal. The buyer's information was verified by paypal and the watch was sent off. About 2 weeks later I got an email from paypal that the transaction was being questioned and the money was took back by paypal. I produced the shipping receipt and tracking info and I was covered under seller's protection on paypal so I got the money back. It was a huge headache to deal with but I'm glad I still got the money in the end.

Hey I've sold a watch ot two here and can't rule out selling one more some day.

So I for one would like to know who this member is. So would others I'm quite sure. Maybe it's just a misunderstanding but issuing a dispute to paypal resulting in the funds being jerked can work a major hardship for a seller. Whether it is a misunderstanding, a scam, or simply something that normally would be worked out by exchange of emails, intitiating drastic measures is simply inappropriate!!

So who has done this? And BTW it should be in the Feedback forum.

I will give more details a little later. This all took place in the last hour or so. I want to wait to hear back from paypal and the last pm that I sent to the buyer to see if he responds. I've never had to deal with this before, so I'm being a little cautious of what I should disclose right away. It's very frustrating. I take pride in being an honest person, and stuff like this really pisses me off.

That makes sense. All I'm suggesting is if the first notice a seller gets that a buyer has an "issue" is a paypal investigation resulting in your money being withheld, that is not acceptable IMO!

Yeah. We had regular, prompt and cordial pm exchanges, and then BAM, paypal dispute.
I had some other people that were interested in the watch. I provided them with pics of the watch, box, papers and the watch set to a certain time to prove that I indeed have the watch for sale in my possession. Luckily, I kept everthing, so I can prove that I did not do anything to deceitful.

Hi

as long as you sent it tracked delivery, so you have proof of delivery, then I'm sure you will be totally fine. Paypal disputes usually hang on that one fact. Together with your other trail of emails etc, I see no problem for you.

And yes, name the member here!

Gentlemen,

There are two sides to this story. The buyer is making a claim about the transaction that, if true, gives him every right to dispute the transaction through PayPal.

I suggest that the buyer and seller connect with one another as quickly as possible and try to resolve the situation.

No need for editorial comments in the meantime.

I would like to know this as well. I honestly don't know how I could have done anything in the wrong here.
