Post subject:  My Horrible Tourneau Experience

My fiance bought be an Avenger for Christmas and I haven't gotten it yet. Yes you heard me right...Christmas. She knew what I wanted and made the phone order to Tourneau (after visting the store and talking to a sales rep.) and the received the receipt a couple days later in the mail along with a "thank you" card from the sales lady who sold her it. They told her that it would come in early January (she ordered the watch Dec. 16th). She doesn't hear anything from them. By late January she calls them and the women who sold it to her told her said that she would need to call Breitling to see how long it was going to take. She assured my fiance that she would call her back right away. Three days later she had to call Tourneau to inquire about the watch. She talked to the sales lady who said that it was going to be another 3-5 weeks. So be it...

We are approaching week 4 now and they still don't have the watch. My fiance calls and a girl picks up. She called and asked for her "Breitling Avenger watch". The girl put down the phone to look in the store. She gets back on and asks "Is it a watch?". (No Dips**t, I called Tourneau looking for a f**cking pinata  ). So not only do they not know where the watch is, they try telling her that the women that sold it to her is the only one in the store who knows where it would be. They don't even have a record of her buying the watch there! The sales women comes in a Tuesday. I don't think I will ever be getting this damn watch. I should have got it grey market, at least I would have a decent looking fake by now.

It just angers me that a corporate store wouldn't have any records of such a watch purchase. Poor women wanted to surprise me for Christmas so she bought it from an AD. Little did she know that we would have to put up with this crap. I'd be lucky if I got the watch (or the money back) at this point. :(

Sorry for the rant...I had to let off some steam.

I'm afraid that you have to wait at least 3 months.
That's what it takes if they don't have in their store.

That's true, but this should have been made abundantly clear during the sale. I have read some pretty poor reviews of Tourneau, so it is surprising though

What angers me is the sheer incompetence of the staff. I wouldn't mind so much if they had been honest with me about the lead time of the watch. According to them, the watch order has never even been placed! The girl couldn't even recognize what a Breitling Avenger was. Even after telling her that it was a "Breitling Avenger watch", she came back asking if it was a watch! What else does Tourneau sell besides watches?!?!?!?!?!

You have to talk directly with the manager and not with the employees when theses things happen. Not worth arguing or insulting them cause if they are ignorants, they can't do nothing for you.

It's a Breitling Avenger tungsten grey dial with stick markers and pro 2 bracelet.

When I bought my Aquatimer Chrono there they said it would take TWO months to get a short rubber strap. After a month I went to a REAL AD, ordered a short rubber strap, and got it 3 business days later. When the Tourneau strap came in, I took it home, looked at it, and it was a regular length strap.

The majority of their sales people are not qualified to man a mall popcorn cart.

Post subject:  Re: My Horrible Tourneau Experience

Last year right before Christmas I went into Tourneau on Madison Avenue in New York City and was sold a Breitling B01 that I found was not working properly the next day (bezel was stuck and just wouldn't turn). After a little investigation on my part I found out that it was a used watch that another customer sold them. I demanded my money back and even though I was within the 7 day return period, Tourneau gave me a total run around and eventually stuck me with the 'Store Credit Policy', by convincing me that a check would take so long to process from their main office that by the time i got a refund (I paid cash) it would arrive much after Christmas. So I went along with the store credit which basically forced me to buy/pick something else from Tourneau. Naturally I ordered another B01 and was told that one would be shipped from another Tourneau location within 4 days. I finally, after many trips to their store and finally losing my cool, got it over a month later. I should have read the reviews before I first walked into their store.
