hello all,
Am trying to verify the probability of a "convenient" story that one of the online (trusted!) sellers just fed me about my Mark Vi (ordered 28/Nov) having been "mistakenly" shipped to HK with their show stock on 22/Nov for a tradeshow event "next week", however it's expected to be back from HK on Dec 8th -- and available to ship out to me then. I asked them to name the tradeshow, however they haven't yet replied to the e-mail (gently inquiring which show it might curiously be).
Wondering if anyone could confirm that there is any sort of watch/jewelry trade show in Hong Kong next week (6-9/Dec)? HKCEC had the big one in Sept; JMA just ended Sunday (28/Nov) and Dec 5 sees the finish of Castlebury's (on Golden Mile) ... but nothing that I could find going on from 6-9/Dec (ie, "next week").
Forum search here shows many regular members (high post count) have been this seller's customers without issue, and even though greymarket their 'lings have always been said to be authentic once received and inspected.
I would rather not identify the specific shop at this point.
I don't want to unfairly tarnish their rep as other than being ranked one of the very few "trusted" in these forums, if it's just an honest mistake on their part.
Their tactics smell fishy to anybody?
TIA if anyone wants to chime in...
cheers,
R.
