I'm a new member to this site but have been regularly visiting here for quite sometime now because of the wealth of information regarding Breitling watches. I am an active member of other watch forum sites like Watchuseek but finally decided today to become a member of BreitlingSource.Com. Unfortunately, I really had a very bad experience with a fellow member named MtlBentley who tried to sabotaged my very first thread here with very rude disrespectful comment as I was trying to sell my Breitling Super Avenger on the Buy/Trade/Sell forum.

I then remembered that this same individual (Mtlbentley) also offered to buy another Breitling watch that I was selling at watchuseek about 3 weeks ago for a very low price but I decided not to do any business with him because there was just something about his approach and posts that made me very uncomfortable.

A fellow BreitlingSource member sent me a PM this morning stating that he also had a similar bad experience in dealing with this MtlBentley also relating to the sale of another BREITLJNG SA watch...thankfully, the sale did not push through. Furthermore, I just learned today after doing some checking that this MtlBentley poster was banned from Watchuseek very recently. Note: **It takes a lot to get banned from the Watchuseek Forum unless you have done something really bad or shady***

He goes now by the name of salover at Watchuseek.com but its very obvious its the same person. He also tried to communicate to me today at that site under this "new user name" on another desperate attempt to decieve me with another low ball offer on the watch that I'm selling. Who knows how many more 'usernames' he has there or in this forum so be very careful on the people you are dealing with especially when selling or trading your expensive watches.

As what the other BreitlingSource member told me, majority of the members here are good people but there are few people like this person that you need to stay away from.

Check this out...exactly the same post but under a new username.

I am an active member in other watch forum sites and not once had I ever encountered any problems or troubles with any other forum members. I was really excited to finally become a member at this site but never thought that I will encounter such a bad experience on my very first posting.

Sorry, I was unable to respond to your post right away.

It takes a lot to get banned from that site and members who are banned have done something really bad or involved in shady fraudulent transactions. As far as I know, this individual has been banned multiple times and keeps coming back but they are able to trace it to the same IP address.

I was advised by another Breitlingsource member to write something that I know about this individual and my experience in dealing with him as to warn other members to be extremely careful in dealing with this particular individual who obviously goes by multiple usernames.

Having good reps is very good and will help a lot but not enough. There was a member in another site who recently got scammed because he thought the person that he was dealing with had good reps but later on find out that this person was giving himself "good reps" under his multiple usernames.

You have do your homework and ask all the information you need to make you feel good about the individual you are dealing with. If you get a bad vibe at all, pass on the deal. If something does not feel right about the deal, side with caution. I have no problem with providing my home address, phone number, and driver's license info with anyone I deal watches with. I expect the same in return. If I am sending you a 4K watch, you should be prepared to prove to me that you are you.

Being banned as I am, and knowing other who are I find your view narrow but unfocused.

I have dealt with Alan M a few times and can say he is without doubt above any question a true gent and top bloke, I think he mearly meant that its not hard to get banned from WUS and that even if you are it dosent mean you have to do anything really bad, In fact I seam to recall someone who mearly disagreed with a mod and was banned in fact the same happened to me at a UK based board,it dosent always mean wrong doing. :wowzers

I'm a newbie to this board and to Breitlings. Alan M has been patiently helping me out by answering all my questions. From where I stand, he's a class act.

WUS is a very open and friendly forum and I have not heard of any member being banned just because you disagreed with a moderator...maybe in the other forums but not a Watchuseek. All of the members that I know that got banned there were involved in fraudulent transactions or sold counterfeit/stolen watches.

Of course not.
Alan is a top guy and he was banned from WUS for disagreeing with mods.
WUS is not relaxed and laid back place like this is and often you have to balance with words and sentences.
That's why I don't stop there anymore.

It's not even nearly open as this one is.

I'm for one pretty damn glad that we don't get banned here for disagreeing with Mods

As far as the WUS forums and their laid-back-ness, I don't know, I just mainly look at their classifieds, what I have noticed just by lurking over there is that in most of the threads that I've read everyone agrees with each other, kinda boring to me.
