Had any dealings with Watchfinder.co.uk

I've been checking the web for testimonal details and the majority seem good. Everything else related to them seems ok also including some Sports People that are sponsored by them (Although we're not talking Tiger)

The prices they quote are typically 20% so I'm thinking they're obviously getting these from a broker or AD of some sort. They d also claim to have AD stamped warranty.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Dont buy from them! Simple as that.

Yes they do offer a really good discount and it is very tempting. They say they source their watches from AD's in the UK, however are not an AD themselves. I bought a Navitimer from them early last year and I am positive the watch was second hand... When I finally recieved it, a whole week later than expected, it had obvious scratches on it, which makes me think it had been worn before. Also I did recieve the warranty but it was not filled out correctly and had not been stamped by an AD, in fact the part where the stamp should have been was blank. I contacted them to try and get details of the AD the watch was sourced from and they could not give me the information and were very unhelpful. I was therefore stuck with a lovely watch, but that was covered in scratches and came with an invalid warranty.

If you want my advice, go with a proper AD. There are a few that offer very pleasing discount and a better and more personal service than watch finder. Banks Lyon in Lancaster are my favourite AD. They have a personal shopping service and can give you a brilliant discount to go with it!

I am definitly sticking with Banks Lyon for my future purchases! Have a look... http://www.bankslyon.co.uk/

Another obvious UK choice would be Andrew Michaels. See the banner at the top and don't be put off by the less than inspiring website.

The staff are very helpfull and the deals are too shabby either

I'll second that.
Andrew is a superb AD and I'd happily recommend him to anyone.

Good luck,

Verner

Just as another point of view on Watchfinder, a mate of mine bought an IWC Big Ingenieur from them and was delighted with both the price, the quality, and the service. I guess experiences vary.....

Um I don't think they do source them from a reputable ad

Yeah careful UKS, you may not realise it, but that is quite an accusation to make.

If it were true Andrew Michaels would lose their AD status for any brand that they supplied to Watchfinder. Most grey market delaers source from Asia, South America or Eastern Europe.

Whoops! I didn't mean in any official fashion! I had heard that the resellers ring around AD's acting as customers and find a best price.

Edited original post to remove ambiguity.

just to add my tuppence worth in here. I've been looking for a 2nd hand navitimer for about a month now. In the end i bought it from watchfinder and have absolutely no complaints about the product or the quality of service.

I have also dealt with Am and several other AD's all over the UK to see if they could track a 2nd hand one down for me.

What i will say (and this is one of my pet hates) is that on more than one occasion both AM and watches of switzerland and most of the other AD's i spoke to said they would have a look and call me back either later that day or the next day only for me to hear nothing for days at a time.

Now i'm not exactly a big meal ticket for these guys, as shifting a pre owned watch is not going to set their world on fire BUT if they would have said i'll call in a few days i would'nt have a bee in my bonnet.

What i liked about watchfinder was on both occasions i put "cheeky" ofers in on watches I had a call back within minuites to broker a deal. And on both occasions the people i spoke to were very helpful. I fully appreciate that i'm approacing this from a different from the OP as i was specifically looking at pre-owned pieces so whether their new watches are on the grey market is irrelevant to me, but if your looking to go pre-owned then give them a shot.

I'm slightly confused as I've just posted a reply to another topic you posted saying that your watch was serviced by watchfinder prior to sale and yet is incapable of keeping COSC time. A question of perception I guess.
