Placed an order in July for a new Avenger, was told the watch is not in stock custom ordering from Breitling, will be ready in September. It is now November and they keep giving me the run around. Very unhappy with the service.

If it's coming from Switzerland there's very little that the store can do. It's possible that the delay is from Switzerland or it's possible (probably likely) that it's Grigoros either providning incorrect dates or shipping the watch to another store / fulfilling a different order.

I would fully understand if it was because of delay's from Switzerland, but they cant even give me a straight forward answer. They just keep saying they dont know what happened. So they are now shipping 3 Breitling's to my local La Swiss for me to choose from.

I bought my Chrono Evo from La Swiss Pacific Centre this past summer.....and to be honest I got a better deal from Shelina (store manager) then I found anywhere else in the lower mainland (time & gold, golden tree)

Not only that but I believe the service I received was just great!

Mind you. I hear nothing but bad things about the Yorkdale La Swiss therefor will never make a purchase there.

new to the board.. I was searching for a replacement for my leather strap.....
just wanted to share my experience with La Swiss about 3 years ago.

I bought my Colt Oceane at Fairview Mall. The old lady (or should I say an experience saleslady?) has been working at the store for a long time - that's what she told me. When I expressed my interest in the Colt Oceane with leather strap, she quoted me a price. I decided to pay with my AMEX.. you wouldn't believe what she said.. "I shouldn't have quoted you this price..." Well, if your store accepts Visa, MC, or AMEX, I have all my right to pay by AMEX (guess the transactional fee is higher and she should have quoted me a higher price! :guns: )

As she had a doctor's appointment, she gave it to another lady (pregnant at that time) to complete the sales. They both didn't like me paying by AMEX.. :x I was told that after they sent out my info to Breitling I would receive a very nice cap.. guess what.. after 3 years, I still haven't received anything!! not that I care, but I wasn't too happy about the purchase I did there!

Regarding Yorkdale store, remembered one time I went there to browse for Breitling watches. I asked about battery life and price for stainless steels strap.. and was also flipping the Breitling tiny book with models etc etc... the sales guy said to me yours is an old one.. yeah right old model.. so what?? :nana:

So did anyone have their servcing at Haydn Street? wondering if it's time to do some polishing and maintenance....

I had a couple of dealings with LaSuisse on Ste Catherine st in Montreal and had nothing but good experiences. I brought watches for servicing/buffing and when they found out I was from Ottawa (3hrs away), they did it right away and I picked it up by days end. When asked to see watches, they took them out and seemed very knowledgeable. I will return there again.

I ordered my watch from La Swiss at Fairview Mall in Toronto on April 25th (3 weeks before my wedding). I opted for the Superocean Heritage 46, with the chain-link watch band. I was told that the item needed to be special-ordered from Switzerland but that it would be ready in time for my wedding day. After calling back several times, I realized that I would not have the gift in time for my wedding. Furthermore I was informed that La Swiss at Fairview Mall was closing permanently and that my watch, when ready, would be shipped to the Yorkdale Mall branch also in Toronto. After repeated calls, my watch finally arrived 10 WEEKS LATER with no explanation for the delay. Upon receiving a call to visit the store and pick up the watch on July 5th, I drove one hour to this location only to be told that “the watch had been sold”. Quite simply, I was outraged. I demanded to speak with the manager, whom the sales clerks contacted at her home. While she coordinated delivery of a new watch 3 hours later (we waited in the mall), I questioned how my watch initially took 10 weeks to order and yet a new one could be delivered within hours? The service staff was rude, unapologetic, unprofessional and certainly did not value my business. When the watch finally arrived, the watchmaker had left for the day and I could not get the watch band adjusted – leading to a subsequent trip to this location the next day (2 more hours of driving). I paid the balance owing and intend to NEVER return to La Swiss for any future purchase – and of course I will let my friends, family and coworkers know of the unacceptable service this retailer provides. Quite simply: BRUTAL. Darwinism says this business should go the way of the dodo bird very, very soon.

It's got worse recently because the manager resigned and the replacement really can't handle the staff who (as you discovered) are useless.

Problem is that La Swiss is owned by Grigoros and Grigoros is the distributor for Breitling in Canada so no incentive to step up. Grigoros is an embarassment and Breitling are ignoring good business sense because of the cosy relationship that they have with the Grigoros ownership (that also controls Greek distribution for Breitling).

Many other brands have realised what is going on and have pulled their brands from La Swiss which is why Breitling is surrounded by so many sub $1,000 brands there now.
