Well, I was actually able to take a day off work to commemorate this special occasion. Each time I get a new watch, I cannot believe that I am even more excited than the last time. And this one is really special, being the first high end watch in over 15 years that is not a Breitling! This is an amazing watch, not just because of the Omega in-house Caliber 8500 movement, but all of the details that have gone into making it so gorgeous. The small details, like the date window, and the fact that the background and numeral colours match exactly to the dial, is a big deal to me. I wish my photos could bring out more detail, though. Thanks to you, Jean-Jacques, at Time & Gold in Vancouver, for showing me this watch. Because of your passion for this watch, I am now a proud owner! Thanks to all of you also at Time & Gold for holding on to this watch for me this past month. Must apologize to all of you and Omega for the rather poor photography. Although, I have to admit the dial colours in these came out pretty close to the real thing - Teck-Grey. Anyway, as good as I can get, here is my new pride and joy: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope this at least gives some idea of the beauty of this watch. This really is the first watch that I ever owned, where I would not want to change anything. All the proportions of the case, dial and bracelet are perfect. The bracelet itself is beautiful, and the links are screwed in as well. The lume is a really cool blue, which is also a bit unique, an upgraded luminova for Omega from the old model. Cheers, Carl |

Carl, As of course you know I have seen this beauty in person, what a stunner mate, congratulations! I just missed you today, junita said you had just been in! I must admit that I was there to look at a constellation with the thermoquartz movement in it, they had a deal on it and I thought I might PX the cockpit as I have a thing about high accuracy quartz movements. Unfortunatly the best they could do was a straight swap which was unacceptable to me seeing as with the discount the connie was a shade over $2200 tax in and the cockpit was over $3000 more and it is only 8 months old, you have got me the Omega bug mate. Loved the connie though! |

Hey Ian! Must take a look at that Connie next time I am at T&G. I'm really sorry that I missed you. I am also a big fan of some of the quartz movements. After all, my first Breitling Colt was a quartz. Would kind of hate to see you let the Cockpit go, though. That is a real special watch, being a gift and all. I tried on the Railmaster that they had as well. A beauty, but now that the AT is on my wrist, I have absolutely no doubts that I did exactly the right thing. The Seawolf is going to stay! It is still my favourite of all the Breitlings. Would you believe that I actually tried on the one they have with the PRO II bracelet, that I originally said I did not like with the black dial. This time I thought it looked great, and I think that is the way I will go. The big bezel and the rider tabs give the watch such good protection, that it is the perfect watch for me to wear at work. Well, take care, and hopefully our paths cross again soon. Cheers, Carl |

Stunning watch, Carl, I really like it. The polished bezel and hands set off the brushed bracelet nicely, and I love the caseback. Enjoy your new purchase! (and good to hear you're keeping the Seawolf too) |

Yeah, for some reason after I got the Omega today, I felt even stronger about the Seawolf and felt that I really want to keep it. It is the perfect watch for me to wear every day, especially to work. Now I still can't wait to hear that you got the Blacksteel. Cheers, Carl |

Hey, Carl, It is a gorgeous watch, in every way. A clean, elegant dial, a fine bracelet, and that glass back is to die for: what a beautiful movement -- and you get to look at it any time you want -- you lucky sot! ![]() Glad you're keeping the Sea Wolf -- what a perfect combo. Given any thoughts yet to what you're going to do for an encore in a couple years? IWC? Panerai? I imagine you'll surprise us again... ![]() Steve |
